Bold Films inks 14K sf lease at Hollywood 959

Developer Jerry Snyder’s recently completed Hollywood 959 development is attracting, well, Hollywood tenants.

Bold Films — the company that co-produced “Nightcrawler” with Jake Gyllenhaal — is the latest to sign on at the building. It just inked a deal for 14,000-square feet on the fifth floor of the development’s West Building at 6555 Barton Avenue, The Real Deal has learned.

The company will relocate into the 245,000-square-foot creative office campus from its current office at 6464 Sunset Boulevard. Hollywood 959 will serve as Bold Films’ West Coast corporate headquarters.

The deal comes on the heels of the sound company Formosa Group’s 30,000-square-foot lease at Hollywood 959, signed earlier this month. Other entertainment and tech companies at the property include Broad Green Pictures and HGST, a division of Western Digital.

The two-building property, completed in March, is roughly 33 percent leased.

Greg Frankovich of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented Bold Films in the lease deal. Micheal Geller, Josh Bernstein and Ben Silver of First Property Realty Corporation represented J.H. Snyder.

“The [development] is attractive to entertainment companies that don’t want to be on Sunset,” Bernstein said. “[It’s in] the Hollywood Media District, which offers close access to Larchmont away from the hustle and bustle.”
